Preparations Underway for the 40th Anniversary Symposium at the Lincoln Memorial Shrine

The Inland Empire Civil War Round Table is pleased to announce details for our 40th Anniversary gathering, featuring renowned historians Gary Gallagher and Joan Waugh in Redlands, CA.

For four decades, the Inland Empire Civil War Round Table (IECWRT) has served as a cornerstone for historical education, preservation, and scholarly discussion in Southern California. To mark this major milestone, we are hosting our 40th Anniversary & Symposium at two of Redlands’ most treasured historical landmarks: the A. K. Smiley Public Library and the Historic Lincoln Memorial Shrine.

This multi-day event brings together scholars, authors, students, and history enthusiasts from across the nation to explore the military, political, and social dynamics of the Civil War era.

Keynote Presenters & Special Guests

We are honored to welcome two of the country’s premier Civil War historians as our featured keynote speakers:

  • Dr. Gary Gallagher: Professor Emeritus of History at the University of Virginia, author of numerous definitive works on 19th-century military strategy, and a leading voice in American historical scholarship.

  • Dr. Joan Waugh: Professor Emerita at UCLA, widely recognized for her research on the Union home front, Ulysses S. Grant, and 19th-century social history.

In addition to our keynote addresses, the symposium will feature presentations from historians, authors and living history actors.
